PlaceDesVosges.com exists because the Place des Vosges deserves more than a line in a Paris guidebook. It is an independent travel guide covering the square, the Marais and the sights within walking distance — written to be genuinely useful before you go and while you are there.
What we cover
- The history of the Place des Vosges and the Marais, told clearly and accurately.
- The museums, mansions, streets and markets of the district — and which are free.
- How to get here from the airports, stations and the rest of Paris.
- Which tours are worth booking, ranked honestly and updated as ratings change.
- Where to stay, and when to come.
How we research
Opening days, fares, prices and practical details are checked against official sources — museum websites, RATP and Île-de-France Mobilités, the City of Paris — and reviewed regularly. Tour ratings and review counts come directly from GetYourGuide; hotel data from Trip.com. Where a figure varies, we give a range and say so, rather than pretending to a precision that does not exist.
Where we express an opinion, it is an opinion. We tell you when a tour is overpriced, when the free option is better, and when a place is closed.
How the site is funded
We are a GetYourGuide affiliate partner and a Trip.com partner. If you book a tour or a room through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is the only way this guide is funded — there is no advertising, no sponsored placements and no paid inclusion in any ranking. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
Museums change their hours, restaurants close, fares go up. If something here is out of date or wrong, please tell us — we would rather fix it than defend it. Write to us on the contact page.
